Exclusive: Lorraine Kelly reveals her internet habits
Our BT Infinity broadband study into the nation’s internet behaviour has revealed some fascinating insights into the way we use the web. Now TV presenter Lorraine Kelly reveals her top internet habits in our exclusive interview.
Lorraine revealed she’s a ‘Home Hub’ – one of six character types that illustrate the relationship between people and the online content they consume.
Lorraine uses super-fast broadband mostly for social networking, banking and (lots of!) clothes shopping. As she’s been at home recuperating after a recent accident, she’s also used her super-fast BT Infinity broadband to download films and TV shows to catch up on.
She also revealed she’s become addicted to Twitter – but who is her favourite celebrity Tweeter? Watch the full interview with Lorraine below to find out.
The survey
We surveyed web users about their online lives and worked with psychologist Corrine Sweet to create six online character types based on what they told us.
The survey, for BT Infinity broadband, found that almost a quarter of the nation (23%) are Home Hubs like Lorraine – the person with the main household responsibilities, these practical and focused individuals are the highest percentage typology.
The full list of typologies is:
- Life loggers – 7% of users
- Study bugs – 23% of users
- Pleasure seekers – 12% of users
- Savvy surfers – 17% of users
- Home Hubs – 23% of users
- Next steppers – 1.2% of users
