The colourful closing ceremony concert at the Olympic Stadium described as a festival of fire and headlined by Coldplay ended what organisers say has been ‘the greatest Paralympic Games ever’.

Team GB sealed third place in the medal table rankings with 120 medals, 34 of which were golds. Russia just pipped Britain with two more golds to take second place, behind China who finished top with 231 medals.

In an inclusive touch, each participating country will take home one of the 200 copper petals that made up the Paralympic cauldron.
