X Factor: Who will win this weekend’s final?
It is The X Factor’s big finale this weekend and the three remaining acts are set to sing their hearts out. But who do you want to follow in Little Mix’s footsteps and be crowned the winner?
Coming to Manchester for the first time, the final is shaping up to be the closest yet. It will be aired over two nights, with (as usual) only two of the three remaining acts making it through to Sunday’s show.
On Saturday night, the finalists are expected to sing both a new song and reprise their favourite performance from the series so far. They are also said to be duetting with their mentors.
The two remaining singers will then go head to head in Sunday’s show to perform the Winner’s Single, and one of them will be go on to be crowned the 2012 winner.
But who is most likely to win?
Christopher Maloney

High Point
Being voted back in to the live shows on the wild card vote, after originally failing to make Gary’s final 12.
Low Point
Being branded as ‘too cheesy’ by the judges (Gary excluded), and generally being this year’s controversy. Christopher has divided viewers and has had a lot of negative press surrounding his suitability to the competition, given his out of date singing style.
Will he win?
Given that he has reportedly been topping the phone votes each week, alongside the fact that he has never been in the bottom two – this strangely could be possible. If he wins, Louis Walsh has admitted recently that he believes the singer will ‘struggle’ with selling records in the long term. But he has come this far, so Christopher is certainly in with a chance.
Jahmene Douglas

High Point
There are too many to mention really. Jahmene has been on a true X Factor style journey this year, with one of his most memorable and powerful performances perhaps being his rendition of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Look to You’, which he sang last week in the semi-final.
Low Point
Despite not really having a ‘low point’ as such, Jahmene had a shaky start to the competition and battled with terrible nerves.
Will he win?
Jahmene has been mooted as a possible winner since the early stages of the live shows – but that’s certainly no guarantee of success – especially given some of the shock exits this year’s series has seen…
James Arthur

High Point
His rendition of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s ‘The Power of Love’, last week, which Gary went on to describe as ‘the performance of the series’. James has done a couple of amazing performances which stand out, but that one has to undoubtedly be the highlight.
Low Point
Being in the bottom two the week of Ella’s shock exit and having the decision ultimately go to deadlock.
Will he win?
Simon Cowell is backing him to win, as is Professor Green (who I happen to think James bears a bit of a resemblance to!). The fact that he has a very original sound and writes his own songs, make the prospect of an album very exciting, but will people pick up the phone and vote?
