Why is Tyler Moon so mad with Joey Branning in EastEnders?
Next week in Soapland, two love rivals go head to head, a conman’s cruel scam reaches its nail-biting climax, and a former jailbird receives a surprise proposal…
EastEnders
It’s a fraught week in Walford, as Tyler and Joey come to blows over – what else? – a girl. The ruckus begins when Whitney expresses her discomfort as Joey and cousin Lauren paw each other in public.

Whitney squirms as Joey and Lauren kiss in the caff
Annoyed at Whitney’s disapproval, Joey wastes no time issuing a threat: he’ll tell her boyfriend Tyler about their secret snog if she doesn’t stop looking down her nose at him.

Whitney makes a clean breast of it to Tyler
Worried that the truth will emerge, a guilt-ridden Whitney confides in mum Bianca, who advises her to say nothing. So what does Whitney decide to do? The complete opposite, of course!

Joey and Tyler fight over Whitney
Before long, Whitney’s confessing all to Tyler, who immediately heads off to the Vic, nostrils flaring, to confront Joey. When a stern talking to fails to have the desired effect, a furious Tyler launches himself at his love rival. As Joey retaliates, the situation quickly turns ugly and it’s left to Alfie to pull the feuding thickwits apart.

Alfie helps his ex in her hour of need
In other news, Kat and Bianca’s plan to set up a stall together at the market hits the skids when they realise they don’t have the necessary cash for the trading licence and pitch fees. As a crestfallen Kat heads to the pawnbrokers with her wedding ring, she runs into Alfie, who convinces her to let him lend her the money instead. Now there’s a turn up for the books…

Ayesha shows off her ample charms to Masood
Elsewhere, I’m suspending my disbelief willingly as beautiful young Ayesha continues her reckless pursuit of middle-aged Masood and his magnificent paunch. And when Ayesha confronts him, wearing nothing but a skimpy towel, Masood is going to need nerves (and loins) of steel to resist her.
Coronation Street
He’s proved his conman credentials by worming his way into gullible Gail’s affections – and now uppercrust charmer Lewis is set to take revenge on everyone who’s ever crossed him.

Audrey reels from Gail’s betrayal
The drama begins when a battle-weary Audrey asks Gail, David and Nick to meet her in the pub to sort out their differences. But when Gail fails to show up, Audrey decides to pay her a house call – only to find her in a very compromising position with Lewis. Despite Gail’s frantic attempts to justify their relationship, Audrey is left sickened by her daughter’s betrayal – and quite frankly, who can blame her?

Gail’s attempts to justify herself fall on deaf ears
Realising she’s burned all bridges with Audrey, Gail decides there’s only one thing to do: borrow some money against her house and head to Italy to live the dream with Lewis. Big mistake.

Lewis discovers Kylie’s dirty little secret
His fiendish plan to fleece Gail now well and truly in motion, Lewis secretly prints off her bank details from the bistro computer – but when Kylie and Nick walk in unexpectedly, he’s forced to hide under the desk. As he hears the former lovers discuss the possibility that Nick could be the father of Kylie’s baby, Lewis decides it’s high time he spiced up his scam with a sprinkling of blackmail.

Will Jenna come clean to her parents?
Elsewhere, it’s judgement day for Jenna as she faces an employment tribunal, following her kiss with lovestruck patient Sophie. Is the physiotherapist ready to admit her sexuality to her unsuspecting parents and take the consequences for her actions, or will she let Sophie lie for her and take the easy way out? Sorry, soap fans, I’ve been threatened with a lifetime ban from the Soap Bloggers’ Society if I say any more…

The social worker drops a bombshell on Tyrone and Fiz
In other news, Tyrone is desperate to clear his name following Kirsty’s allegation of assault – not least so he can fight for access to their daughter Ruby. But when the much-loved mechanic heads to the Children’s Centre with lover Fiz for a pre-arranged visit with the little ’un, there’s a very nasty surprise in store.
Emmerdale
Belle Dingle’s no stranger to sticky situations (I still have nightmares about the time she fell down that pesky mineshaft on Christmas Day) – and the little miss is about to find herself in deep doo-doo again, when mum Lisa catches her snogging her secret boyfriend.

Belle and Luke enjoy some quality time together…
As Emmerdale aficionados know, Belle has been dating Luke Salter since they met at a New Year’s Eve party. Desperate to spend some time together, Belle suggests they go back to her house, where she thinks they’ll be alone. But the teenagers are spotted going inside by Debbie, who wastes no time telling Lisa what she saw.

…Until rotten spoilsport Lisa crashes the party
Belle is understandably mortified when Lisa shows up and reads her the riot act, before dragging Luke out of the house and warning him to stay away. Is this the end of the burgeoning romance? Only time will tell…
Elsewhere in t’village, the unrelenting misery continues for ex-jailbird Chas. Distraught to hear that none of the family will attend Molly’s christening because of her, she tells Gennie that her daughter might be better off with a different godmother.

Chas and Bernice are at each other’s throats…
Worse is to come when a stone – aimed at Chas – comes crashing through the Woolpack window as she’s bickering with Bernice. The incident prompts an uncharitable Bernice to snipe that Chas ought to do everyone a favour and disappear. Charming!

…When a stone comes flying through the window
By the end of week, things are looking up for Chas when Cameron makes a surprise return to the village. After learning his lover is packing her bags to leave, he gets down on one knee and pops the question. A stunned Chas eventually says yes, but it’s not long before she’s starting to have second thoughts…

Cameron has a surprise proposal for Chas
