Next week in Soapland, friends become enemies, a chancer’s luck runs out, and two warring parents do battle in the courtroom…

Coronation Street

For months now, lovable grease chimp Tyrone has maintained a dignified silence as he endured months of physical abuse at the hands of his short-fused fiancée Kirsty. But that’s all about to change when his best mate Tommy lets the cat out of the bag in the most public way imaginable.

Tommy’s concern for Tyrone grows

The drama begins when Tyrone accidentally scalds himself with a boiling kettle during his lunch break. Wrongly suspecting that Kirsty’s to blame for Ty’s bandaged hand, Tommy finds it hard to bite his tongue.

Tommy can’t hold back any longer…

Later, the situation escalates when a paranoid Kirsty spots Tyrone and Tina together and accuses them of having an affair. Witnessing the fracas, Tommy snaps and tells a shocked Kirsty he knows all about her lady-hulk rampages. Springing to Kirsty’s defence, Tyrone lunges at Tommy, insisting he’s got it all wrong.

Back at home, furious that Tyrone’s been confiding in his friends, Kirsty orders him to give Tommy the sack – and, like a good little puppy, Tyrone does his mistress’s bidding.

Can Tommy persuade Kevin to give him his job back?

When Tommy runs into Kevin at the Rovers, he tries to convince the garage boss to reinstate him, but Kev refuses to overrule Tyrone. Later, as folk in the pub coo over Kirsty and her bump, a frustrated Tommy lets rip, telling everyone how the ex-copper has been treating Tyrone. As an embarrassed Kirsty takes to her heels, Tyrone hits back, revealing that Tommy was using the garage for a drug scam. Oh dear, that’s not going to wash well with Kevin…

Sunita agrees to invest in Karl’s business

Elsewhere, Sunita is reluctant to invest in Karl’s latest get-rich-quick scheme of flogging smoke detectors. But, after falling out with Dev over his lavish treatment of the twins, she has a re-think and tells Karl she’ll pay for the smoke alarms with cash from the joint bank account she shares with her estranged hubby.

Michelle makes an unwelcome discovery

In other news, Michelle realises the extent of Ryan’s drug habit when she turns up at the flat unannounced and finds her son high as a kite. Furious, she starts searching his pockets and it isn’t long before she finds an incriminating packet of white powder, instantly transforming Ryan’s inane grin into the expression of someone being treated to a surprise enema.

EastEnders

As a new week dawns in Albert Square, things finally seem to be looking up for Anthony, when Alice agrees to go on a date with him. Alice is thrilled when her suitor lays out a picnic for them at the allotments (some women are very easily pleased!) and rewards him with a kiss. But before things can go any further, a drunken Shirley arrives on the scene and tells the pair to get lost.

Life’s a picnic for Anthony and Alice

Despite his success with Alice, Anthony is still worried about the disapproval of her overprotective father and brother. Meanwhile, Joey is horrified when Lucy tells him that Alice is planning to lose her virginity with Anthony. Determined to put the kybosh on his sister’s plans, Joey tells Anthony that the best way to win over his dad Derek is with a poker game.

Anthony plays a very dangerous game

As the game gets underway between the three men, Joey is the first to fold, leaving Anthony completely out of his depth with devious Del Boy – and when Anthony’s cash runs out, Derek persuades him to up the stakes by offering the antiques emporium as collateral. You can probably guess the rest…

Derek has Anthony at his mercy

By the end of the afternoon, a desperate Anthony has gambled his life away and, with few choices left, he’s forced to accept Derek’s offer of cash for a one-way ticket out of Walford.

Janine reaches the end of her tether with Scarlett

In other news, Janine’s nerves are in shreds (when aren’t they?), as she struggles to cope with a crying baby. Sensing Janine’s distress, big-hearted Tanya pays her a visit but, as she tries to reassure her friend that motherhood will get easier, she unintentionally puts the idea into Janine’s mind that Michael may be having an affair.

Has Janine found evidence of Michael’s infidelity?

Later, as Janine rifles through Michael’s belongings, her worst fears seem to be confirmed when she finds a gift box containing a necklace. As soon as Michael arrives home, she confronts him with the ‘evidence’ and accuses him of seeing another woman. Exasperated by her lack of trust, Michael reveals the necklace is actually a present for Scarlett. D’oh!

Emmerdale

Life has been a trial for Marlon in recent months – and next week, the spaghetti-limbed chef finally has his day in court with Rhona, as they do battle over their son Leo. As Marlon and Laurel come face to face with Rhona and Paddy outside the courtroom, the stress becomes too much for Rhona and she snaps at Laurel, laying the blame for the situation squarely at her door.

It’s the day of reckoning for Paddy and Rhona

During the court proceedings, Rhona questions Marlon’s attachment to Leo, telling the judge that he’d been planning to go to New Zealand with them, but changed his mind the minute he got a girlfriend. Her plan to discredit her ex backfires, however, when the judge rules that Leo must remain in the UK until a follow-up hearing in six weeks’ time.

Marlon refuses to be intimidated by Paddy

But Rhona and Paddy haven’t given up the fight just yet, and afterwards a bile-spewing Paddy tells Marlon they will win custody in the end and take Leo away from him for good.

Paddy makes a shocking revelation in The Woolpack

Full of frustration, Paddy and Rhona head to the Woolpack to de-stress, but they receive a frosty reception from an unsympathetic Diane. And when Paddy overhears Rodney and Diane talking about them, he angrily tells the entire pub – including Laurel’s gobsmacked husband Ashley – that Marlon and Laurel are an item.

Priya and David make plans to meet in secret…

Elsewhere, the mutual attraction between Priya and David is growing faster than Zak‘s beard. When the lust-filled pair arrange to meet in secret outside the village, David explains his absence by claiming he’s going for a run.

… And it’s not long before the temperature’s rising!

Annoyed that his running partner has left him behind, Nikhil heads off in search of David – and gets the shock of his life when he catches him snogging his sister. A sheepish David then has no option but to admit to Nikhil that his marriage to Alicia – currently enjoying a mini-break at HMP Hotten – was a sham. The big question is, will Nikhil believe him?
