Vincent makes a real dog’s dinner of the task and gets fired
This week’s episode was particularly close to my heart. I have 2 mini dachshunds (Jeffrey and Andrew – below) and am very particular about their diet. Sometimes I wish I controlled my own diet with the same level of rigour.
I was surprised to hear that Vincent’s team lost as I was sure it was going to be Glenn who would be back in the boardroom. Both Glenn and Vincent completely ignored the feedback from their focus groups…a rookie mistake.
I especially enjoyed the classic Apprentice moments, when both project managers listened to all ideas presented but chose their own in the end!
My favourite line in the episode had to be Vincent referring to Ellie as the ultimate dog food officianado by saying “she knows dog food, she buys dog food…”. I’m not sure buying something really makes you an expert in it – hilarious!

Jeffrey and Andrew wait with bated breath to see who’ll get fired
I found there were many shouting-at-the-tv moments during this episode, but I had to remind myself that the teams turn around a phenomenal amount of work in just 2 days.
Doing the same thing in the real world would have taken weeks, if not months, without necessarily a significantly better quality result by the professionals.
I remember when I did this task, we had to create a TV advert for a pair of trainers – we had to design the trainers, run focus groups, select actors, storyboard the ad, film and edit it and then present it to to a group of professionals, all in just 2 days! Definitely one of the toughest tasks.
Ellie got fired too, but she was very quiet and didnt really leave a lasting impression. It’s always hard to get a good sense of people on the show because of all the editing, but she didn’t come across that well.
Next week’s episode looks fantastic… Finally a new task!!!!
