Tanya

This week in Soapland there’s plenty of secrets, several spurned lovers, a surprise reconciliation and a kiss in a boxing ring…

EastEnders

Yet more problems for Tanya

Tough times for Tanya this week – she’s booked in for keyhole surgery on her cancer, but still can’t bring herself to tell Rainie. After the op, it all gets too much for her and she breaks down alone in the salon. Then to make matters worse, Lauren accuses her of having another affair – so Tanya tells her what’s really wrong. Lauren is obviously upset by the news – but will she be able to keep it to herself?…

Happily ever after! Or perhaps not

Darren and Lauren are busy playing secret lovers this week – but when Poppy finds out what Darren’s bee up to – will she tell her friend? Then just to stay with the theme, Fatboy and Faith get together on Darren’s stag do. The morning of the wedding looms, with Vanessa railing against Darren for being a cheater – will her angry tirade make him call off the wedding?

She much more likeable when unconscious: it’s Zainab

Syed discovers Zainab has been in contact with Amira this week – but Zainab is confused about how he got the number. And her confusion isn’t helped by the drugs Yusef has been giving her. Then he takes his plan a step further by spiking her dinner with crushed tablets and placing the empty bottle in her unconscious hand…

Ben prepares to make a major lifestyle choice

Phil puffs and pants in the boxing ring this week – and it’s not all to do with exercise. When he sees Jay and Duncan sparring, he convinces Ben to get in the ring with him. When Ben fails to land a decent punch, he enlists Christian to coach him. Phil typically tells Christian that boxing is better than listening to show tunes and gets Ben to spar with Duncan. Then when the boys are left alone in the gym, Ben leans in for a kiss…

Coronation Street

Ah, isn’t that nice? A lovely couple in love

It’s the eve of Carla and Frank’s wedding, so typically there’s an emotional rollercoaster on the cobbles this week. First she tells him she can’t marry him, then she tells a stunned Peter that she called off the wedding because of him – then tells Frank the same thing. Frank can’t cope with the truth and angrily grabs her. Carla then calls the police and accuses Frank of raping her – and while she’s taken off for a forensic examination, Frank continues to protest his innocence. Hm, probably not quite the wedding day he was looking forward to.

…then it all goes pear-shaped with Carla pressed against the wood-effect door

When Peter tells Leanne what’s happened, she starts getting paranoid about his feelings for Carla. Then Peter and Frank end up in a brawl on the street (of course) and Peter is arrested. Meanwhile Frank tells Carla this can all go away if she drops the charges – but will she?…

Tracy and Becky scheme as Steve just looks bored. He’s probably not the only one

The Tracy / Steve do-si-do continues this week – Tracy tells Steve she’s decided to stay at No 1. She claims she doesn’t want to put him under any more pressure. Will Steve be won over?

Sean adds to his range of natural facial expressions

Sean attempts to apologise to Marcus this week, but Marcus stops him – saying he was pushing too hard to adopt and would rather forget it. Then when he thinks he’s depriving Marcus of being a dad Sean tells Marcus he’s ending it. Will Marcus be able to change his mind, or is it too little too late for the pair?…

Emmerdale

The Nicola and Jimmy rollercoaster cranks into gear (again)

Jimmy and Nicola are back to their old tricks this week – it’s like the whole head-battering, memory-loss farrago never happened. First they try winding each other up about their forthcoming divorce, then they’re in bed together, making up for lost time. Make your minds up, people! The next day, Nicola wants to forget the whole thing, but Jimmy is keen to carry on as a couple. They eventually tell the Woolpack regulars they’re back together – but if Nicola moves in it means she’ll be under the same roof as Carl

Matching her dress to the paella was clearly a mistake

Gennie is a rose between two thorns this week – deciding who to choose from Nikhil and dishy Nicky. After cooking a disastrous meal for Nikhil, Gennie ends up in the pub with Nicky – and typically she gets in a row with Nikhil, telling him their friendship is over. Nikhil is gutted – and after a pep talk from Charity, he decides to man up and get his girl. But then he sees Gennie and Nicky in a tight embrace…

Amy channels Janis Joplin

Amy has decided she wants to get rid of her baby, so sets about binge drinking to cause a miscarriage. Belle finds her suffering from incredible pain and Amy admits she thinks she’s losing the baby – but Belle didn’t even know she was pregnant…

While Belle remains singularly unimpressed

When Amy goes into hospital, she finds out that her baby is still alive – which leaves her with mixed feelings. She’s desperate to tell Val, but feels she can’t. She thinks she might give up the baby for adoption, but Belle now knows her secret, and doesn’t like the adoption idea one bit…
