Amy

Next week in Soapland, there’s a heart-wrenching decision, a man in extreme pain, a fall down the stairs and a surprise birth during a Nativity play…

Emmerdale

Val starts fussing immediately

Amy faces a tough choice this week. She’s still insisting she’s going to give up the baby, but she confesses to Belle she’s secretly having doubts. When the Pollards visit the hospital, Amy tries holding baby Kyle, but panics when he starts to cry.

Despite her mixed feelings, she chooses to keep him, and they bring him home in time for Christmas – but soon Amy is feeling overwhelmed by everyone’s excitement, and Val’s constant fussing. It’s not long before a dramatic bathtime incident makes Amy decide she’s not cut out to be a mother – and she makes a decision that will have repercussions for everyone…

Oh great – Cain’s woken up

Cain is on the road to recovery next week, but is annoyed to hear his progress will be slow – up to eighteen months to get back to normal. But he hides his pain well – especially when other people are around.

Chas and Charity lock horns

And even though he’s safely tucked up in his hospital bed, Cain still manages to cause tension in the village. Chas is frustrated Aaron is getting overly concerned about Cain, worried it might affect him – and she refuses to serve Charity, who reminds her that she too turned her back on Cain. There’s also tension when Moira comments if Jai did attack Cain, then he did everyone a favour…

Will Laurel have to face life alone? (while dressed as one of Hinge & Bracket)

The ill-advised vow renewal goes off the rails for Laurel and Ashley next week. Ashley becomes angry when he realises more people know about Laurel and Marlon than he thought – and then Sandy manages to put several spanners in the works.

As the big day looms, Marlon phones in sick to work – saying he can’t face doing the catering for the renewal, so Diane, Moira and Rachel selflessly step in to do the food instead.

Meanwhile, a shocked Rhona and Paddy find out the true identity of Marlon’s mystery married woman, and Sandy makes a last ditch attempt to ruin the big day.

When Laurel turns up at the church, she finds that Ashley isn’t there. Instead, he’s gone to Daniel’s grave. Meanwhile, when Marlon hears that Ashley hasn’t turned up, he makes a shock decision. Ashley turns up just in time to make the ceremony, but Marlon is also on his way to the church (after whacking poor Paddy and escaping). Will Laurel and Ashley go through with the ceremony or will Marlon halt the service to fight for the woman he loves?

EastEnders

Zainab prepares to leave. Quick, someone grab the Party Poppers!

Zainab’s world is turned upside down next week when Yusef reveals he’s taking her to Pakistan with Kamil. When Yusef fails to reunite her with her son, she goes along with his actions to get Kamil home safely. Meanwhile, a concerned Masood forces Zainab to tell him what’s going on – and when he sees evidence of her abuse, he vows to save his family, no matter what…

Alfie is struck dumb by the world’s most garish blouse/wallpaper combination

Life at The Vic is strained and Jean is clearly not coping. Kat is determined to look after Jean but when she wanders off with Shenice, they all panic and set off in search for them. Realising that something has to change for the safety of his family, Alfie secretly makes a phone call. Kat insists she can look after Jean but Alfie tells her that she’s just using Jean as a distraction from their real problems…

It’s 476th time lucky for groom Ian

It’s the day of Ian and Mandy’s wedding and while Ian is getting everything ready for his millionth marriage (or thereabouts) Mandy is having doubts about their future. Will she go through with the wedding?..

Coronation Street

Tracy hits the deck – but who’s to blame?

Tracy has a horrible Christmas this year – first she’s brought home from hospital by Deirdre, while Steve is still skulking around avoiding her, unaware she’s had a miscarriage. Once home, Tracy heads to Becky’s, and showers her with yuletide abuse. As she leaves, she falls down the stairs and soon finds herself back in hospital. When a shocked Steve visits her, she tells him she’s lost the twins. Convinced by Tracy that the miscarriage was caused by her fall, Steve brands Becky a murderer.

Deirdre’s horrified and remonstrates with Tracy for her lie. But too late – it’s already spiraled into a Christmas-themed fight, and Tracy and Becky come to blows at the Nativity. Nice.

Becky is left out in the cold (luckily in a leopardskin coat)

Steve tries to make Tracy feel better by telling her he’s bough Lloyd’s house for them to live in. He then goes one further by proposing to her. Haven’t we been here before?

Becky’s understandably devastated when she learns of the proposal, and hits the bottle while burning photos of her with Steve. But she falls asleep drunk while the fire rages out of control…

It’s a lovely bit of diamonique, but will Stella drop Peter in it?

Peter’s still skulking around, secretly buying Christmas gifts for Carla, but when Stella accidentally finds his secret love gift, she assumes it’s for Leanne. Will she blow the gaff on their tawdry affair?

…and there’s some good news at last

Elsewhere, there’s happier news when Katy goes into labour during the Nativity, and delivers a son, Joseph Peter, unto the cobbles.
