Vanilla Ice

It was Vanilla Ice’s turn to leave the ice this week after his flamenco routine failed to win the judges’ approval after a skate off against Laura.

The seven celebrities performed dances from around the world, with the charleston, waltz and samba amongst the styles putting in an appearance.

Loose Women presenter Coleen Nolan stood in for pregnant Holly Willoughby, who was forced to take the night off after suffering from severe migraines – get well soon, Holly! Coleen appeared on the show last year as a contestant, and exchanged a few barbed comments with Jason Gardiner through the programme.

And so, this week’s contest began.

Laura

Laura hit the ice with a classic charleston performed to a modern track. With a pink wig and feathers in her hair, Laura she pulled in a respectable 24.5, but Jason said she “lacked the bounce in the shoulders we need to see.”

Jeff

After surviving last week’s skate-off, Jeff came out fighting this week with a Viennese waltz. Gliding across the ice in diamonds and white, he put in a number of lifts to land a score of 22.5. “You made it exciting,” smiled Robin, and even Jason called the routine “very refined.”

Denise

Denise sported hair extensions for her raunchy Brazilian samba but scored just 14.5. Emma said Denise was “giving it [her] all, but Jason scathed, “It’s supposed to be high octane and very seductive, yours however looked like you needed an MRI scanner” – running out of similes, Jason?

Vanilla Ice

This week, Vanilla Ice (Rob) was bringing sexy back as he mixed Justin Timberlake with Spanish Flamenco. He struggled to take the hip-hop out of his routine, but still scored a respectable 21.5 with Emma enthusiastically dubbing the routine “very manly, very sexy”.

Sam

Sam embarked on a routine inspired by traditional Irish dancing, pulling off a flawless performance, scoring 27.0 and shaking off any problems with synchronicity that dogged him last week. Emma gushed: “Wow, wow, wow! I don’t know how you just pulled off a Riverdance on ice!”

Chole

Chloe atempted a middle Eastern number, but struggled to control her hands. Baring her midriff to Holly Valance’s Kiss, Kiss, Laura scored 24.5 in the live show as Jason celebrated her effort, saying, “What is great about you is you take stuff on board, you work with it and you bring it the next week.”

Johnson

Finally, Johnson hit the ice with the Argentine tango to She Drives Me Crazy and despite introducing an exciting lift and taking the lead, only managed to score 14.5 – the same as last week. “I didn’t get that there was this sexual tension going on between the two of you,” said Jason.

An unexpected pair in the skate off

When it came to the skate off, it was Vanilla Ice versus Laura. With two strong contenders, the judges were forced to save the more “technical” skater, and Rob said his goodbyes.

Did the right person go? Let us know.
