We love a debate on Life’s a Pitch and our hunt to put together a Premier League Select XI has certainly provided that.

From dependable goalkeepers to tricky wingers, our panel – and our readers – have been debating the merits of some of the finest players the Premier League has to offer.

This week we’ve been trying to decide which strikers we want leading the line in our dream team, and the debate has certainly been fierce.

From top to bottom, the Premier League is packed with strikers who offer goals, assists and pure graft. It’s not just the number of goals our panel is looking for, though – it’s attitude as well. Does that rule Carlos Tevez and Luis Suárez out, then?

What about Fernando Torres? He’s got undoubted class and ability, but after a poor season it’s doubtful whether he starts for Chelsea, never mind our dream team. Our poll provided different results from our panel, so which strikers would you choose?

Elsewhere, we’ve got Michael Cox from Zonal Marking wondering if new signing Fabio Borini can be Liverpool’s tiki-taka catalyst, while Brazilian football expert Jack Lang takes a look at Oscar ahead of his move to Chelsea.

We’ve also got all the latest rumours from the transfer market, as our panel give them a probability rating out of 10, and you can find out what’s going on across the Football League in the Fanzone.
