I’m a Celebrity: Dougie Poynter is crowned King of The Jungle
McFly bassist Dougie Poynter was crowned King of The Jungle on I’m a Celebrity last night after facing The Only Way Is Essex’s Mark Wright in the final two.
Dougie has kept himself slightly below the radar for most of this series, never being drawn in to the ongoing Anthony-Fatima wars, and studiously avoiding Pat Sharp’s barbs. The tactic seems to have served him well, and proves the maxim that you should always watch the quiet ones.
After bonding in a last-minute bromance, the two final Essex natives Mark and Dougie faced each other across the dinner table for the infamous I’m a Celebrity… dining challenge. They gamely munched their way through witchetty grubs, crickets, blended cockroaches and ostrich anus to win their final camp meal.
On being crowned King of The Jungle in the final minutes of the show, Dougie told Ant and Dec:
“These have been the best couple of weeks of my life. I wish everybody in the world could experience that.”
Um, dining on ostrich anus? No thanks, Dougie.
So did the right person win? Let us know below.
