Emmerdale’s Ali is out for David’s blood but why?
Next week in Soapland, an innocent man comes under attack, a murderer is unmasked, and a blonde babe is unlucky in love (again)…
Emmerdale
Dish of the Dales David Metcalfe is used to having women falling at his feet – so he gets the shock of his life when a furious Ali attacks him in the Woolpack, convinced he’s the randy rat who impregnated her sister Rachel.

David faces the wrath of Ali
With Rachel staying schtum about the identity of her baby’s father, Ali begins running through the possible culprits – and when she sees David acting sympathetically towards the mum-to-be, she jumps to all the wrong conclusions. After grabbing the startled businessman by the scruff of his neck, she accuses him of doing the dirty on Rachel. David, meanwhile, has no idea what Ali’s talking about and, when his attempts to calm her down fail, it’s left to Ali’s girlfriend Ruby to step in.

Rachel goes cap in hand to Jai
The altercation soon sets tongues wagging and, as speculation surrounding her pregnancy reaches fever pitch, an increasingly desperate Rachel begs the real daddy – bon-bon baron Jai – to whisk her out of the village and into that swanky flat in Leeds he’s always banging on about.

The men of Emmerdale will do anything to catch Chas’s eye
Elsewhere, lovestruck Dan decides that the best way to impress Chas is to dress up as a Smurf for the village’s 10k fancy dress fun run, where he finds himself competing alongside a giant banana and a couple of Village People rejects.

Dan’s feeling blue when Chas can’t say ‘I love you’
Dan’s willingness to humiliate himself in public pays off big style when Chas, who he’s been dating for all of a week (practically a lifetime in Dingle years), suddenly proposes. But his joy is short-lived when he asks the pretty brunette if she loves him and she can’t bring herself to answer in the affirmative.

Dan pops the question to Chas
All is not lost, however, and when Chas discovers that a devastated Dan is planning to leave the village, she surprises herself by telling him she does love him after all. Soon, the factory worker is going down on one knee in a crowded Woolpack – and a tearful Chas doesn’t hesitate to say yes. Hmmm, if they make it to the altar I’ll eat my lifesize cutout of Andy Sugden…
EastEnders
I’m amazed it’s taken Shirley so long to twig that twisted teen Ben was responsible for Heather’s murder, given that he’s been booting bagfuls of bloodstained evidence into the undergrowth at every opportunity. But, after finding the photo frame that dented the tabard-wearing mum’s skull, Shirl’s left in no doubt that it was Ben who struck the fatal blow.

Andrew has some harsh words for Shirley
Torn between protecting her family and getting justice for her best friend, poor Shirley doesn’t know which way to turn. Her distress only deepens when Heather’s fiancé Andrew confronts her, angrily questioning whether she knew the truth all along.

Sharon reassures Ian she’s there for him
With rumours about Ben’s involvement in the crime flying thick and fast, it isn’t long before Ian starts to feel responsible for his little brother’s murderous actions. Concerned about her dad’s state of mind, Lucy turns to Sharon – and the big-hearted blonde is soon at Ian’s side, offering him comfort and support in his hour of need.

Is murderer Ben about to get his just deserts?
Meanwhile, realising she has to make some tough decisions, Shirley gives a shocked Phil the heave-ho. Furious at his involvement in covering up the murder, she tells him his love for her is twisted and ugly. Will she go one step further and shop her all-but-stepson to the police? Sorry, Walford watchers, I’ve been threatened with excommunication from the Soap Bloggers’ Guild if I reveal what happens next!

A game of spin the bottle has unexpected repercussions
On a lighter note, Lauren throws a party in her parents’ absence and breaks the ice with a game of Spin the Bottle. Fatboy isn’t impressed when he has to kiss Anthony, but his luck soon changes when he locks lips with Alice. Could this be the start of a beautiful romance? The initial signs are certainly promising…

Janine struggles to juggle career and motherhood
In other news, Janine makes a snap decision to return to work, with Scarlett in tow. After handing her baby daughter to a dismayed Billy, the young mum sets about checking the business accounts – but work isn’t quite the doddle she thought it would be. First off, she struggles with her computer password, then Sharon shows up and delivers the bombshell news that Phil has appointed her R&R’s new manager. Talk about a bad day at the office…
Coronation Street
She may be one of the Street’s foxiest women, but the path of true love never runs smooth for poor Eva Price. The trainee machinist was devastated when boyfriend Nick dumped her, before setting up home with her half-sister Leanne.

Rob discovers Eva’s deceit
In a bid to mend her broken heart, Eva was soon squirting pheromones at Carla’s swoonsome brother Rob. But her burgeoning romance will be stretched to breaking point when Rob gives Karl a job in Gusssetworld’s packing department. Unwilling to work alongside the man who cheated on her mum Stella, Eva sets Karl up by sabotaging a vital order. Her cunning plan works and a hapless Karl is duly sacked.
When Rob – who obviously isn’t as stupid as he looks – discovers his girlfriend’s really to blame for the costly cock-up, he’s furious. After Eva’s munched on some humble pie, the pair reach an uneasy truce, but Rob’s eye has already started wandering and soon he’s flirting with Stella in the Rovers.

Is Stella set to be Rob’s latest conquest?
The next day, Rob tells Eva their relationship has run its course and they’d be better off as friends. How will Eva cope with yet another heartbreak? By taking a vow of celibacy, if she’s got any sense at all…

There’s a pregnant pause, as Tommy confronts Kirsty
Meanwhile, Tommy tracks down Kirsty to Weatherfield General’s maternity unit, after a tip-off from midwife Marcus, and persuades her to return home. When Tina learns of Tommy’s meddling she’s furious and tells her gobsmacked boyfriend that the former policewoman has been beating Tyrone black and blue.

Tyrone and Kirsty seal their reunion with a kiss
But her hopes of preventing Tyrone from taking Kirsty back are dashed when she spots the pair snogging in the street.

Owen has some words of advice for Chesney
In other news, Owen urges Chesney to voice his fears about Katy’s surrogacy plans, and convenience store king Dev has a hot date (let’s just hope he doesn’t treat her to one of those boxes of Black Magic that have been gathering dust in the corner shop for the last decade).
