Dancing on Ice went all retro last night for a school disco, but who won a gold star? Who faced detention? And who was expelled?

The final nine took to the rink in embarrassing outfits, skated to fairly cheesy songs and busted some even cheesier moves in order to hopefully win over the judges.

The gold star goes to…

After skating to 5ive in a very iconic school disco outfit, with a hairstyle that was maybe a tribute to some of the 5ive members, Matt Lapinskas won a very well-deserved place at the top of the judges’ leader board last night, with a very respectable score of 25.5.

Also upping her game this week was Beth Tweddle who danced a very energetic routine to Steps’ 5, 6, 7, 8. Jason claimed that “she doesn’t have a fun side” (I beg to differ, she looked like she was really enjoying herself) but she still managed to walk (sorry skate) away with a respectable score of 23.0.

However, the most deserving of a gold star this week was undoubtedly Keith Chegwin who was reminiscent of a reformed character out on the ice this week. He even managed to earn a score of 21.5. How did that happen?

The detention…

Joe Pasquale was at the bottom of the leader board (rather unsurprisingly) after being awarded a mere 16.0 for his ‘efforts.’ However, credit where credit is due – Joe did not fall over this week and he is still vaguely better than Todd Carty was all those years ago…

Who was expelled?

After falling into the bottom two alongside fellow contestant Keith Chegwin, the end was nigh for Anthea. All the judges apart from Ashley Roberts reckoned Keith made a better pupil and Anthea became the fourth celebrity to leave the competition.

What did you make of this week’s icy school disco? Did do you think Anthea should have left? Let us know below.
