Corrie’s Kirsty boils over – and guess who feels the full force of her anger?
Next week in Soapland, there’s sex, lies, shocking home truths, a violent (and completely unprovoked) assault and more dodgy dealings than you can shake a stick at…
Coronation Street
Tyrone and Kirsty dig for dirt
Tyrone and Kirsty give Dempsey and Makepeace a run for their money next week, when they try to get to the bottom of Terry’s dodgy dealings. Convinced the Street’s resident wideboy has greased some palms in order to get a licence for his lap-dancing club, the plucky pair head to the town hall in search of evidence.
After flashing her police badge, Kirsty manages to talk her way in to the planning office. But, as she and Tyrone rifle through some files, they’re caught in the act – by none other than Councillor Peake and Terry himself.
Suspecting that Terry paid Councillor Peake off to approve his new venture, Kirsty uses her position to get copies of his bank statements, which appear to support her theory. Certain she’s got the crafty councillor bang to rights, she returns to the town hall and arrests him on suspicion of taking a bribe.
The smug grin is wiped off Terry’s face
Meanwhile, Terry is enjoying a celebratory drink in the Rovers with son Tommy, confident that his troupe of gyrating lovelies will soon be lifting the spirits (and lightening the wallets) of the Weatherfield locals. But his smug grin quickly fades when Kirsty and Tyrone crash the party and tell the devious Duckworth he might have counted his chickens too soon.
The same accusation could be levelled at Kirsty, however, when she gets called to a meeting at work and is duly suspended for her illegal search at the town hall. Back at home, Tyrone offers dinner and sympathy, but Kirsty turns on her fiancé, accusing him of pushing her into taking action against the club.
Kirsty reaches breaking point
As a stunned Tyrone attempts to apologise, Kirsty’s fury boils over and she grabs the nearest weapon (which just happens to be a ladle) and hurls it at his head. Crikey, looks like someone needs to go to anger management…
Julie receives some bad news about the baby
In other news, mum-to-be Julie is nervous as she heads to hospital for her first scan. With boyf Brian at her side, she waits excitedly to see the first image of their baby. Unfortunately, there’s some bad news in store…
Only little Jack stands in the way of Kev and Sally’s reunion
Elsewhere, Sally and Kevin (the Street’s answer to Liz Taylor and Richard Burton) are holding crisis talks about their relationship, following Sally’s announcement that she isn’t prepared to play mum to little Jack. Refusing to accept her decision, Kevin devises a cunning plan – but first he’ll need to get Aunty Pam on side…

Chas and Cameron plan their future together
The course of true love always runs roughly in Emmerdale – and Chas’s romance with Cameron is no exception. This week, the single mum displays a moral fibre hitherto unseen in a member of the Dingle clan when she finishes with her young lover, who also happens to be the boyfriend of her niece Debbie. But Chas’s resolve quickly crumbles (surprise surprise), when Cameron announces he’s ready to leave Debbie for her.
At first, Chas stands firm and tells Cameron her answer is no, but mere hours later she weakens and tells Cameron she would like him to dump Debbie and her poor, sick daughter Sarah after all.
The secret lovers enjoy some down time
Before callous Cameron can do the dirty deed, however, a call comes through from the school, saying that Sarah is ill. As an anxious Debbie and Andy take their daughter to hospital, Cameron sneaks away for some down time (quite literally) with Chas and ignores Debbie’s increasingly desperate calls to his mobile.
Chas plays the doting auntie (it’s a bit late for that!)
Later that day, Chas’s conscience is pricked when Debbie asks her to bring some clothes to the hospital for Sarah. Her guilt only deepens when Sarah tells her that Cameron has promised to take her and Debbie to Disney World as soon she’s better. Surely now, Chas will do the decent thing and give Cameron his marching orders. Unfortunately, things are never quite that simple in Soapland…
Zak loses his cool with Dr Maude
Meanwhile, Zak is also at Hotten General, getting the all-clear from Dr Maude – but the delusional Dingle refuses to believe the good news and when he gets aggressive, the surgeon is forced to call security.
The Dingle clan are in a state of shock
Back at home, Zak tells wife Lisa his cancer has returned and that he only has weeks to live (oh, Zak!). As word spreads, his shocked relatives gather to offer their support. If only they knew the truth…
EastEnders
Mandy takes pity on a poorly Lorraine
They say that blood is thicker than water, but ever since ex-prostitute Lorraine arrived in Walford, daughter Mandy has been struggling to cope with her mum from hell. Next week, the pair’s relationship is stretched to breaking point when Lorraine (the sort of woman who makes Cruella de Vil look like Mother Teresa) makes a surprise reappearance in Albert Square.
Can mum and daughter resolve their differences?
When Lorraine claims to be seriously ill, Mandy is deeply suspicious at first – but then, realising her mum is genuinely in pain, she decides to take her home. It turns out to be a short stay, however, for the minute Ian returns he demands his new house guest sling her hook, telling Mandy he doesn’t want Lorraine ruining things for them.
The following day, Mandy discovers Lorraine has been admitted to hospital and, ignoring Ian’s advice, goes to visit her. As mother and daughter talk, the deep-rooted tensions between them begin to melt away – but not for long. As Mandy reveals her intention to build a new life with Ian, Lorraine viciously lashes out, telling her gobsmacked daughter she’s never loved her (ouch).
Ian’s accountant issues a warning
Meanwhile, Ian’s bills are piling up – but even when his accountant warns him to stop spending (too late), or risk losing everything, the foolish fish fryer stills decides to splash out on a cruise for his honeymoon with Mandy.
Carol gives Derek a piece of her mind
Elsewhere, Carol is struggling to keep the family afloat in Bianca’s absence, and things go from bad to worse when she gets into an argument in the café and ends up losing her job. As soon as Derek hears what’s happened, he offers to help in any way he can, even offering to loan Carol some cash so she can take the family to Suffolk, where Bianca is currently residing at Her Majesty’s pleasure.
Whitney reveals she might be eating for two
At first Carol is thankful for her big bruv’s support, but gratitude quickly turns to anger when she discovers Derek is only being nice so he can use her house to hide his stash of knock-off booze. Then, as if she didn’t have enough to worry about, Carol learns that granddaughter Whitney might be pregnant…
