Clare Balding to front her own flagship sports chatshow on BT Sport

Award-winning broadcaster Clare Balding has signed up to present her own flagship show on BT Sport – our new sporting channels which launch in the summer.

Clare was widely praised for her great work fronting the BBC London 2012 Olympics and Channel 4′s Paralympics coverage last summer. On BT Sport, she will present and co-produce a weekly flagship magazine show featuring interviews and discussion of major sporting issues.

Clare joins previously announced Jake Humphrey in the BT Sport presenter line-up. She will continue to present racing for Channel 4, as well as other radio and television work for the BBC. She also currently fronts the Saturday primetime show Britain’s Brightest for BBC1.

Clare said:

“I’d like to thank BT for giving me the opportunity to present my own magazine show featuring interviews with iconic sports stars and sports discussion. I’m enthused by BT’s vision for sports coverage in the future and particularly their support of women’s sport, an issue about which I feel very strongly. This is an exciting new venture for me and I can’t wait to get started.”

About BT Sport

BT Sport has the rights to show 38 live games a season from the Barclays Premier League, including 18 of the top clashes, for three years from August 2013. The channels will also show 69 live rugby union games a season from the Aviva Premiership.

BT Sport has also signed a deal with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) to show up to 800 hours of live tennis, including the TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships.

The BT Sport channels will be based at the iCITY development at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford and will launch this summer.
