BT ArtBox

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of ChildLine, we asked more than 80 leading artists to re-style the original Gilbert Scott-designed K6 telephone kiosk in their own creative way.

Now, following an exhibition across London, the ‘BT ArtBoxes’ are up for auction to raise money for ChildLine. To launch the auction, a special BT ArtBox was installed in the famous shark tank at SEA LIFE London Aquarium.

More than 80 leading creative talents took on the challenge of transforming the Gilbert Scott-designed red telephone box in their own unique styles. The long list of celebrities, sculptors, royal academicians, famous fashion, interior and graphic designers and digital artists who designed their own BT ArtBox included Sir Peter Blake with Swarovski, Lily Cole, architect Zaha Hadid, fashion designers Giles Deacon, Zandra Rhodes, Philip Treacy and Julien Macdonald, artists Rob and Nick Carter, Ryan Callanan, Martyn Ware, sculptor David Mach RA and interior designer Nina Campbell.

Now, you’ve got until July 22 to get your hands on one of 60 different BT ArtBoxes from the exhibition on eBay, in aid of ChildLine. But you’ll have to be quick – it looks like there are sharks out there…
