Colin Murray shares his experience of filming a new set of videos for BT, all about how to get more from your broadband.

Hello everybody. I have rarely considered myself an expert of any sort, but when BT asked me to work with them on matters of listening, booting and playing, I realised I had found my perfect place!

It’s all about BT’s ‘How to get more from your broadband’ video series, and I am being used to discuss music, sport and gaming – three things that fill up a lot of my days.

The only bad thing about my working partnership with BT was that they yanked me from my bed at some ungodly hour and strategically shaved me and covered me in make up… Maybe that’s not a bad thing as I do look pretty rough in the morning.

Anyway, several vats of coffee later, and we rolled the cameras as we attempted to persuade people do more with their broadband – one of my packages is about music online, one about internet gaming and one about watching sport online.

All in all, it was a fun day, at least for me! I got to play Super Mario Cart, strum my ukulele and surf my favourite sites… And hopefully offered up some useful advice amongst all that!

The most difficult part of the day, though, was a take in which one of the girls had to lob a rugby ball at my head, but unfortunately she had all the throwing skills of a two-day old kitten. So, 15 takes later, she was substituted for a guy who was making the sandwiches. Thankfully, he could throw straight.

I would tell you more, but I am currently researching baseball players for my fantasy online draft which I am doing ‘superfast’ tomorrow for the first time ever!

Anyway, if you want to see my trilogy of tips, it’ll be online here on Monday morning.

And while you’re waiting, you can read about Claudia Winkleman’s filming experiences here.
