This Monday is the day often known in UK retail circles as ‘Cyber Monday’… the busiest online shopping day of the year.

And guess how many hours it’s predicted we’ll spend online on Monday? 15 million! Which, according to analysts Experian, equates to 15 minutes for every person in the country.

“The current market trends suggest that in the UK, Monday December 3 will be the biggest pre-Christmas day for online retail, with an estimated 115 million visits to online retail outlets,” an Experian spokesman told The Telegraph.

In the US, ‘Cyber Monday’ is a week earlier so Americans have already splurged online in a mega pre-Christmas blowout. According to BBC News, analysts say that Monday’s sales were up 20% from last year in the US with, gulp, $1.5bn or £0.9bn spent. The biggest Cyber Monday in the US ever.

So, despite the recession, the stage is set for this year’s Cyber Monday in the UK to be bigger and busier than ever on 3rd December.

The question is, will you be hitting the high street to fill your Christmas stockings or clicking your mouse from your sofa? Let us know below.
