Controlled calling gives peace of mind
I was recently involved with a lady whose mother has dementia and rings different numbers all the time, causing great anxiety to her daughter.
So I thought I would highlight a recently launched new service from BT called Network Controlled Calling (NCC).
It’s been devised to help people who make repeat phone calls to certain numbers. Now, there are a few reasons why people make repeat calls. It could be caused by short-term memory loss or if someone is suffering from dementia or an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
It may be that they make repeat calls because they might not remember that they’ve already done something, or because doing something over and over again gives them a sense of security.
Whatever the reason, making repeat calls can be distressing for loved ones. It can also be expensive if calls are being made to premium rate numbers.
That’s where NCC comes in. It limits the numbers that can be dialled to a maximum of 10, while incoming calls remain unaffected. The free service is simple to use and can provide real peace of mind for those affected by this problem.
